Members of our community have been enjoying October to the fullest! From Oktoberfest and delicious culinary adventures to nostalgic and authentic sceneries, our events brought together like-minded people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Bavarian Vibes Meet Italian Bites: Afterwork Party in Munich

As the sun set over the picturesque city of Munich, work turned into wunderbar for the Munich Italiani Group. Known for their exceptional Aperitivo events, the group hosted an Oktoberfest-themed afterwork party. The fusion of German tradition, Italian hospitality, mouthwatering cuisine, and our friendly members made this a treasured event.

It was clear that some attendees took the Oktoberfest theme to heart, as the table was adorned with dirndls and lederhosen. Without a doubt, the traditional Bavarian clothing added an authentic touch to the evening.

Enjoying Events to Fulfill the Spirit

On the evening of 1 October, members of the Tokyo Japanese Conversation Group gathered around the garden terrace along the river of Toyosu for a soul-soothing evening that blended music, nature, and food. Meeting outdoors despite the chance for rain, the Sunset Music Garden was a testament to the resilience and passion of those who appreciate nature and their sense of community.

On the same day, members of the London Photography Group went on a photographic adventure where vintage met funky fashion at The Classic Car Boot Sale at King’s Cross. As they roamed the street market, they found themselves in a haven of nostalgia, surrounded by classic cars, bikes, and fashion inspired by the 20th century.

The event concluded with a vibrant collection of photos, each frame telling a unique story of the fun day they’d shared together.

Mystery on a Plate: On 4 October, the Malmo Meet and Chat Group attended the world premiere of the “Swedish Pizza with a Side of Crime” play, a captivating blend of drama and comedy. An exceptional evening of laughter and suspense brought together the artsy foodies and crime lovers.

The Venetian Masks Exhibition was held in London on Sunday, 1 October. The event was a celebration of the rich history and artistry of Venetian masks, dating back to the 1300s.

Attendees from the London La Dolce Vita Group had the opportunity to get a close look at these unique masks, each telling a story of its own, and to learn more about them during a short lecture. The evening was then rounded off with a delectable free buffet and stimulating conversation.

Enjoying Autumn: Connecting through the Great Outdoors

In the spirit of embracing the wonders of autumn, the Helsinki Walking & Exploring Group embarked on a pleasant nature walk through Munkkiniemi on 15 October. Exploring the Nation-Romantic style architecture of Gallen Kallela Museum and climbing the bird-watch tower served as a beautiful reminder of the harmonious co-existence of culture and nature, adding to the relaxation and fun the tour offered.
